Types of Rounds of Invitations

The Government of Canada holds different types of rounds of invitations throughout the year:

  1. General Rounds of Invitations
Top-ranking candidates in the pool who are eligible for one of the three programs managed through Express Entry are invited to apply.
  2. Program-Specific Rounds of Invitations
These rounds target candidates eligible for a specific Express Entry program. For example, a round specifically for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) would only invite candidates eligible for the PNP.
  3. Category-Based Rounds of Invitations
In these rounds, the Minister establishes a category to meet a specific economic goal. Top-ranking candidates eligible for this category are then invited to apply.

Candidates with a Provincial or Territorial Nomination

Candidates with a provincial or territorial nomination continue to receive invitations through both general rounds and PNP-specific rounds.
