According to the Government of Canada, the 367th Express Entry draw for Education Occupations (Version 1) was held on September 17, 2025, with 2,500 invitations issued. The lowest CRS score for this round was 462, and ties were broken by profile submission time. Eligible occupations included early childhood educators, teacher assistants, elementary and secondary school teachers, and instructors of persons with disabilities. Invitations may apply to the Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Programs, and only work experience performed legally in Canada counts. This category aims to support Canada’s labor market needs in education, and invitations were valid between September 17–18, 2025.

According to the Government of Canada, category-based selection in Express Entry invites candidates with specific skills, occupations, or language abilities to meet the country’s labour market and economic needs. Current categories include French-language proficiency, healthcare, STEM, trades, agriculture, and education. Candidates must meet both Express Entry and category-specific requirements, and top-ranking applicants are invited to apply for permanent residence, helping Canada fill critical skill gaps across the economy.

Employers hiring high-wage Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) must follow all TFWP rules, including offering full-time positions, paying the $1,000 LMIA processing fee, and ensuring wages match the prevailing rate. Recruitment must target Canadians and permanent residents through Job Bank and at least two other national methods, with records kept for six years. Employers cannot charge TFWs recruitment fees, must provide health and workplace safety coverage, and give a signed employment agreement. New employers and those hiring high-wage positions must submit a transition plan to reduce reliance on TFWs. Compliance ensures legal hiring, fair treatment, and protection under Canadian labour laws.

Nova Scotia is prioritizing workers in healthcare, social assistance, and construction with permits expiring in 2025. International applicants in these sectors are also prioritized, while most other applications will not be processed. Some exceptions apply for trucking, science and technology, clean energy, and resource development under the Atlantic Immigration Program. In 2026, the same sectors will remain the focus. Meeting criteria does not guarantee approval, and applicants must maintain legal status in Canada and report any changes to their status or job.
