Canada Continues Express Entry Invitations for Healthcare & Social Services Professionals

October 16, 2025

According to the Government of Canada, on October 15, 2025, 2,500 invitations were issued to eligible foreign nationals under the Healthcare and Social Services Occupations (Version 2) category through the Express Entry system.

  • Lowest-ranked candidate CRS score: 472
  • Rank required to be invited: 2,500 or above
  • Tie-breaking rule: May 12, 2025, at 23:17:30 UTC

If multiple candidates had the same score, the cut-off was determined based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. Invitations in this round could be issued under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, or Federal Skilled Trades Program.

Membership in the Category

An eligible foreign national is considered a member of this category if:

  1. Within the three-year period preceding the establishment of the category, they accumulated at least six months of full-time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work, in one of the listed healthcare or social services occupations.
  2. During that period, they performed the actions and substantial number of main duties, including all essential duties, described in the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
  3. The work experience was accumulated within three years preceding the date the application is received by an immigration officer.

This round aligns with the Ministerial Instructions Respecting Invitations to Apply for Permanent Residence under the Express Entry System (October 15, 2025), in accordance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
